One of Gail's favorite places is The Treehouse. Yes, there's a real one, and it's much as described in Cold Biscuits.
The Treehouse was begun in 1971 by a talented man named Johnny Knight, and for the next thirty years, it was his labor of love. In 2004, it became Gail's. She made it her mission to preserve and restore what Mr. Knight had so creatively designed on a paper napkin and built mostly himself.
The finished product is something Gail is very proud of. "Every time I step through the doorway, I'm amazed all over again. It's a special place, not just the house but the hilltop where it sits. I simply love it."
